Call of Duty Rostermania 2024/25
The end of the gaming season in Call of Duty was very interesting and brought a lot of changes in the teams, regular participants of the CDL League.
The last official Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 tournament was ESWC 2024, which was won by Atlanta FaZe, this tournament was the last major competition of the year.
Let's take a brief look at all the major changes in the teams
Atlanta Faze:
The team from Atlanta performed well all year and ended it on a positive note by winning the last tournament, so the organization did not rebuild its roster. The roster has been fully retained, including the head coach, and is very likely to play again next season.
Toronto ULTRA:
Toronto Ultra looked pretty good in 2024, consistently ranked among the top three teams in the CDL and even won one of the stages - Call of Duty League 2024: Stage 1 Major.
The current team has only two players left on the roster, these are: Insight and CleanX. Envoy and Scrappy transferred to LA Thieves.
Optic Texas:
Optic Texas had one of their best seasons in recent memory and rebounded in 2024 in a very respectable fashion became a 2-times CDL Stages winner and winning the final playoff spot.
The entire roster was also retained and will play next season.
New York Subliners/Cloud9:
NY Subliners had a very unstable season then showing an incredibly powerful game, then incredibly weak.
In August 2024, the entire roster was sold to Cloud9 in connection with the merger of the two organizations to participate in the next ESWC 2024, but as far as we know in September Cloud9 disbanded the roster leaving only Sib.
The future of the lineup is unknown at this time.
Vancouver Surge (Previously Seattle Surge):
Seattle Surge, which from 2025 will represent Vancouver due to the team's relocation to that city, this playing season looked helpless and were unable to compete with their opponents.
However, two players remain in the team, 04 and Abuzah, who joined the organization in August, the rest of the players including: Breszy and Huke became free agents.
In addition, Canadian coach Raymond “rambo” Lussier remained on the team too.
Los Angeles Guerillas:
LA Guerillas have been a complete outsider lately and for a long period of time the team failed to create a competitive roster due to this the organization decided not to continue working with the current roster. At the moment, the roster is completely disbanded.
LA Thieves:
The Los Angeles Thieves are still trying to find their game and are not giving up.
The team has put together a brand new, fresh roster for next season including: Ghosty, JoeDeceives, Envoy, HyDra and Scrappy.
Previously, Kremp, Nastie and Afro also left the team.
The organization also freshened up the coaching staff by signing two new coaches: Shane McKerral and Troy “Sendel” Michaels.
Miami Heretics:
Miami Heretics, who became the first European team to participate in the CDL representing Spain, kept their roster and will play next season without any changes.
The Spaniards showed their hard work and perseverance all season, played well and finished in the top 5. Taking into account that the team was created not so long ago and has already had time to gain experience, next season the guys should play much better.
Minnesota ROKKR, Carolina Royal Ravens and Las Vegas Legion also disbanded their rosters completely, and for now there is no information about their new rosters or possible signings yet.
