The largest showmatch between two teams, which have been rivaling for a long time, will take place tomorrow at 3 o'clock in the morning.

ELEAGUE Clash for Cash — is a rematch, which is organized by the studio ELEAGUE, in which Virtus.pro will try to beat Astralis and to win $250,000.

The history of the confrontation between Virtus.pro and Astralis originates in the Grand Final of the first Major tournament in 2017 — The ELEAGUE Major 2017. Virtus.pro, in the eyes of all viewers, should win the 3rd map in the Grand Final. Despite Poles were in more advantageous position, Astralis could show an impossible game with relatively cheap but very effective pistol, Tec-9 and made a really epic comeback on de_train. When Virtus.pro were leading with a score 13:7 on the map, on which they really knew how to play, they had only to win 3 rounds. Despite all advantages of Virtus.pro, Astralis bought Tec-9 on their last money and could turn the game on its head. After such astonishing round, Danes could override their Polish opponents and won de_train with a score 16:14 and together with this became the champions of The ELEAGUE Major 2017.

Those who have not seen this battle on de_train but wants to know what we are talking about, we would recommend watching the video replay:

Looking at today’s condition of both participants of ELEAGUE Clash for Cash: The Rematch, Astralis seems to be an obvious favorite more than Virtus, pro. However, a bad performance of Virtus.pro can be the reason that Poles are preparing very carefully for the meeting with Astralis.

Both teams have a lot of motivation to win. Virtus.pro will be able to take the solid prize pool in the case of victory and to prove that they can fight against Astralis. In its turn, Astralis will prove everyone in the case of successful participation that their victory at ELEAGUE Major 2017 was not an accident and $250,000, which will be given to the winners, will become a pleasant addition to a positive emotional charge.

Referring to a statistic we can see the following situation: Astralis participated well enough at few more events after the victory at ELEAGUE Major 2017. They became the winners of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2017 and held the 2nd place at such tournaments as StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 3 and ECS Season 3 Europe.

Virtus.pro, in its turn, could win only at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas 2017 after the crushing defeat at ELEAGUE Major 2017. But the victory was very pleasant for Virtus.pro because they could destroy their «arch-enemy», Astralis, in a semi-final with a score 16:3 on de_nuke, 9:16 on de_overpass and 16:4 on de_train. After the triumph at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas 2017, Poles lost their shape and started showing very bad results: the 7th-8th place at IEM Katowice 2017, the 12th-14th place at StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 3, the 13th place at ESL Pro League Season 5 European Division and, by the way, after the bad participation at EPL #5 Relegation, Virtus.pro were downgraded to the participation in ESEA Premier League Season 25.

Looking at the win rate of both teams, we can see the colossal difference between participants of the showmatch. Astralis’ situation seems much better than the situation of their Polish opponents. Gla1ve and his team have 11 victories and 9 losses over the last 20 played matches. This means that the team’s win rate is 55%. As for Virtus.pro, they won only three matches over the last 20 played matches. This means that their win rate is only 15%, which is a tragically bad result.

Despite this, Virtus.pro still has a chance to win as the motivation of victory over the Danish team is very high. As it has been previously mentioned, such bad results can be explained by the fact that Virtus.pro is fully focused on the victory at ELEAGUE Clash for Cash. It is worth to notice that ELEAGUE Clash for Cash: The Rematch has become the first showmatch with the prize pool in the sum of $250,000 in the history of the eSports. This solid prize goes beyond the majority of prize pools at organized tournaments.

Employees of ELEAGUE have made a very effective video, which must be watched by every CS:GO fan and those, who are going to view the showmatch between Virtus.pro and Astralis:
