Falcons Finish Outside Top-4 for the First Time in 2024

Falcons finished in 7th-8th place at BLAST Slam, marking their worst result in the club’s history. Prior to this, the team had not finished a tournament outside of the top-4 in 2024, maintaining a strong performance throughout the year. In comparison, their only lower finish in 2023 was a 5th-6th place at ESL One Kuala Lumpur.

Falcons were eliminated from the tournament after a 0:2 defeat to Gladiators in the second round of the playoffs, failing to progress further. This loss marks an unfortunate exception to the team’s otherwise successful run in 2024.

The Falcons roster at BLAST Slam consisted of:

  • Skiter
  • Malr1ne
  • ATF
  • Cr1t
  • Sneyking
  • Aui_2000 (coach)

Here’s how the players commented on the defeat:

Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu on Twitter

Played terrible this tournament and had some bad drafts, the tournament format is very unforgiving. Sorry to the fans

Oliver "skiter" Lepko on his Twitter

Thats it for our Blast Slam 1 run. We didnt have enough time to fix our form and mistakes and since this format is very punishing we got what we deserved. Congrats to Gaimin Gladiators for beating us and good luck to them for the rest of this tournament. See yall in Bangkok

Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak on his Telegram channel

We lost, we were defeated. We played very poorly, many problems. The unique tournament format, I didn’t like it at all. The only day I enjoyed was the first one, it was fun. Playing 4 BO1 matches was interesting, but the result was meaningless. We ended up in the negative.

It's a bit absurd, but that's the format. I'm not outraged... well, I am, but who cares. See you at ESL One Bangkok. I hope... I’ll try, everyone will try

BLAST Slam #1 is a tournament organized by BLAST. The event features ten invited teams who will compete for a total prize pool of 1,000,000 USD. The event will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark.
